Southwest Obedience Club of Los Angeles, Inc. (SWOC) is an all-breed dog club founded in 1947 with a mission to foster and promote the training, care, handling and exhibiting of dogs. We are a member of the American Kennel Club, and are a non-profit corporation. Any profits derived by the club are donated to the animal welfare organizations, such as, AKC Canine Health Foundation, Guide Dogs of America and Canine Companions for Independence.

Wednesday Night Practice at Arthur Johnson (South) Park (free for Members, $5 non-Members) from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Saturday Practice at Alondra Park (free!) from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Basic Dog Obedience Classes at Alondra Park ( $60 for nine 45 minute sessions) from 10:45 AM to 11:30 AM
Membership is open to persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the objectives and purposes of this Club. Application for membership begins by completing an application form and being endorsed by two members in good standing. The Club Director submits the application to the Paw Prints Editor for publication, and presents the applicant’s name to the Board of Directors for approval. The Director notifies the Applicant of Board’s decision and the Applicant attends a general meeting.

SWOC General Membership meets at 7:30 PM the second Thursday of every month at the Gardena Community Center, 1700 West 162nd Street, Gardena, CA. Meetings not held if an event is scheduled for the same month (Trial, Match, Awards Banquet, Holiday Party, etc.).
